Intro – Here is Bill Shade with today’s “Moment from God’s Word”.
Message – Psalm 119
We have been looking at Psalm 119. In verse 105, David writes, Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Maybe I speaking to someone today and you are not sure which way to go – the way ahead seems filled with darkness and in darkness there is always the threat of danger. In reality you have two choices.
In Isaiah chapter 50, verse 11 God says, Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.
What is God saying? You can walk in your own light if you want – maybe you have been doing that – but it will lead to sorrow. But if you will allow God’s Word to guide you, it will be a light before you on your path. God says, The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. (Psa. 119:130) Why not try God’s way for a change? Open His Word, let Him speak to you, listen to what He says, and determine that you will obey. I guarantee you, your path will be light with his Word as your guide.
